We haven’t seen a chainsaw story this cool since that story about the nun with the chainsaw after the hurricane in Florida.
(And that one now as a beer named after it! ‘Nun With Chainsaw‘)
It’s a hobby that started innocently enough.
Gabi Rizea is a 42-year-old artist from Romania. Armed with a chainsaw says to himself, ‘I wonder if…”
And it turned out, yes, he could.
What he wondered, was if he could carve a face in a treestump with a chainsaw.
It wasn’t perfect, but there was enough there that he decided to hone the skill.
Which he did. Really well.
Three years later, he’s a nationally-known name. Because of his work.
For example, he CAN do faces. Like this one. (Notice how it’s incorporated into a bench?)
He can get playful. (Wouldn’t the kids in your local park love to have something like this?)
He really ramped up the difficulty level for this one.
It looks amazing.
He’s not limited to just people, either.
You might say he’s something of a ‘wizard’.
So, would that make this a self-portrait?
Right. Not THAT kind of wizard.
Does your grandpa go off on paltry politicians, whether they be Democrats or Republicans? Does he get misty eyed when he talks about God and Country and America’s future? And have you ever heard him scream, ‘Awww … Hell no!’ when Rosie O’Donnell starts yapping on television? If you answered yes to one, or all of the above, then your gramps will love Doug Giles’ latest book, My Grandpa Is A Patriotic Badass.
Don’t be fooled by the title — this ain’t just for Grandpa.
The Snowflake Generation — and the rest of America — needs a good ol’ dose of ‘Grandpa wisdom’.
Especially if that Grandpa is Doug Giles.
You’ll love My Grandpa Is A Patriotic Badass just as much as Grandpa will.
