While the weather outside up north might be frightful…

Outside, here in Amazônia it’s been delightful.

Nope, we don’t go in for that Snowpocolypse Blizzardtopia stuff like they did up on the Eastern Seaboard last week.

Instead, we just enjoy mild days of warmth, sunshine, and the best Peacock Bass fishing on the Planet!

Think that’s a boast?

My report for Week 20 says other wise.

The fun starts when our English=speaking guides pick you up at the airport...And, yes, they bring drinks.

Despite the fact that the water was a tad low for this time of year, our 18 guests landed a total of 987 Peacock Bass. Not only that, but they pulled forth several species of piranha, three species of catfish, dogfish, barracuda, and a host of other Amazon species.

And our guests this week were a fantastic bunch.

We had Ilse and Hubert from Austria (they purchased their trip with us on last SCI show), returning friends John and Marsha Abbott and Dale and Charla Williams, Mike Johnston and friends, James Collinsworth and his son who arrived via float plane, and friends John Roberts and Captain Mark who returned for their seventh trip with us.

Of the Peacock they landed six weighed 10 pounds, four weighed 11, two weighed 12, there was one 14 pounder, four 15 pounders, one 17 pounder, one 18 pound brute, and two 21 pound leviathans.

In addition, this group enjoyed a shore lunch of fresh-caught fish, specialty drinks, plenty of dancing and down time in strategically placed hammocks in a jungle clearing, a true Brazilian barbecue orchestrated by our own Chef Saul on a beach untouched by anyone until we got there, drinking, dancing, eating, and more drinking, dancing, eating.

Two on one cast? Yep, it happens!

What can I say?

You put a lot of great folks on a yacht in the Amazon…fun will happen.

I know this because I know Amazônia.

I’m Capt Peacock.

A vida é melhor vivida na Amazônia.
