VIDEO: This Is What Deer Hunting Looks Like…From The Hunter’s POV

Written by Outdoor Beasts Staff on November 16, 2015

Here’s what deer hunting in East Texas looks like.

From the hunter’s point of view.

Watch as he takes a doe to fill his freezer.

Video of an East Texas deer hunting trip near Center, Texas. This group of does and fawns came in to eat early one morning during the opening weekend of the 2015 Texas deer season. I waited for a good shot on the largest doe in the group. As you can see, she did not make it very far.

The doe was shot with a Ruger M77 in 9.3x62mm Mauser firing a 258gr H-Mantel bullet at a range of about 40 yards. This doe was the largest of the group and weighed 124 pounds on the hoof.

The video was made with a regular Sony handheld camcorder mounted on a Solvid CamStrap Universal Head Camera Mount.

Just a short video of an East Texas deer hunting trip where I shoot a fat doe to fill my freezer with venison.
