I’m truly blessed to do what I do.

I mean, who wouldn’t want to spend their life fishing Brazil’s Amazon with old and new friends, week after week…

On a 125 foot luxury yacht…

With a full time chef and a staff that caters to your every whim on board?

Not me!

And apparently not my good friend Larry Larsen either as he returned for his fifth trip to the Amazon with, yours truly, Capt. Peacock this past week.

Larry – if you don’t already know – is the President and Executive Director of the Peacock Bass Association, the author of 22 books and over 2,000 magazine articles on fishing and has amassed more than 77 weeks of fishing for Peacock Bass. He has caught and released over 30 peacock bass over 20 pounds, including two that tipped the scales at over 25 pounds. In addition, he has produced videos on fishing, has written and published four books on Peacock Bass, is a Fishing Hall of Fame Inductee and has set seven line-class world records for Peacock Bass and holds the IGFA All Tackle World Record for Butterfly Peacock.

Our friend Larry!
Our friend Larry!

To say that he is an angling legend would be a serious understatement.

Larry came with friends George, Gary, Jack, David, Lincoln, Mike and John.

Also on board were Canadian Garson Hoffman (this was his second trip with us) and his buddy Edouard Kim. Other guests included fellow Texan Mr. McCann and his three sons Corey, Tucker, and Darron – who decided to try bowfishing at night for their fourth trip with us – and Buddy Rupe and his son Dr. Brad Rupe and their friends Alwell and Ryan.

Everyone loved bowfishing at night!
Everyone loved bowfishing at night!

Also joining us were Mr. and Mrs. Rich McNelly, who were on their second trip with us, and Zeke Johnston, Trent Dyksterhouse, Howard Lee Gum and Reed Williams.

All great people to be sure.

And all great anglers as the 24 of them landed almost 2,000 Peacock Bass during the week including one brute that went 18 pounds.  For those of you wanting a breakdown…

15 10 pounders were landed

4 11 pounders

8 12 pounders

2 13 pounders

6 14 pounders

3 15 pounders

and 2 16 pound brutes.

Of course, fishing’s not all they did.

These fine folks also enjoyed days and nights on virgin beaches, had a great shore lunch, ate, drank, danced, ate and drank some more, and had massages ‘a plenty.

These are just a few of the reasons that keep everyone coming back down to fish with Capt. Peacock Yachts & Expeditions.

I know this because I know Amazônia.

I’m Capt Peacock.

A vida é melhor vivida na Amazônia.
