Fourteen-year-old Kavin Roberts and his uncle were deer hunting on Kodiak Island, Alaska in late October when they realized they weren’t the only ones hunting.
Something was hunting them as well.
That something turned out to be a huge brown bear.
The pair realized this when the bear suddenly charged them from seemingly out of nowhere.
Roberts held his ground and fatally shot the brown bear at 15 yards.
The length of a Suburban.
Although Roberts was praised by state Wildlife Troopers for his courage – and shot – the bear was confiscated as bears that are killed in the act of self defense or the defense of others become the property of the Department of Fish and Game
You the man!
