FLORIDA BEAR HUNT: Nets Hundreds Of Dead Bears On 1st Day (Cue The Anti-Hunters Rage)

Talk about a great way to start a long dormant season.

And one heck of a way to piss off anti-hunters!

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. –

On the opening day of Florida’s first legal bear hunt in 21 years, 207 bears were reported taken statewide, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission. Given than the state’s “target harvest” was 320, the FWC has ordered hunting closed in the Central Florida and East Panhandle bear management areas to additional hunting.

Bear hunting will continue Sunday in the North and South Florida management areas and will continue to be monitored on a daily basis.
